Hogan Gets Screwed!
June 2, 1998
(Making a Decision)
Eric Bischoff is in his office seeming very distressed and tense, he is looking over his budget.
Eric: Jane?
Jane: Yes Eric?
Eric: Can you send Tony in please?
Jane: Right away sir.
Tony: You wanted to see me sir?
Eric: Ah, yes Tony, my number one man. I am in a bit of a pickle with Hollywood and I could use a little help.
Tony: What is it sir?
Eric: Ted Turner has decided to give away some more of his money. He wants to end world hunger or something like that. Anyway our budget has been cut greatly and we just don’t have the money that we did.
Tony: What are you implying Eric?
Eric: We just don’t have the money to keep Hogan, I want him in the WWF as soon as possible.
Tony: This is serious, I think you should talk to him.
Eric: Good idea, thanks a lot Tony (Tony leaves).
June 3
(A Little Chat)
Eric and Hulk Hogan sit down in Eric’s office, Hulk has a very puzzled look on his face.
Hogan: What’s all the talk I been hearing dude?
Eric: The truth is Terry, we are in dire financial straights and I am not going to be able to follow through on your contract, I want you to find other options for your career immediately.
Hogan: Eric, this is bad news, my heart is with NWO, I can’t just pack my bags and join WCW like this.
Eric: What are you talking about, NWO and WCW are the same thing, I am talking about the WWF.
A single tear runs down Hogan’s cheek.
Eric: I know its tough, but you will get over it.
June 6
(the phone call)
Secretary: Hello Titan Towers, how may I help you?
Hogan: Vince McMahon please?
Secretary: Right away.
Vince: Damn it Phil I told you never to call here again, we’ll just have to settle this in court.
Hogan: Hello?
Vince: Who is this?
Hogan: It’s Terry.
Vince: Hey, I’m sorry, I thought you were someone else, how have you been? What’s up?
Hogan: Bischoff wants me out of his contract he wants you to make an offer.
Vince: Nice try Bischoff, trying to catch me for tampering, what a loser.
Hogan: This is not a ploy.
Vince: Interesting, how about 2 years worth 2 million. I can throw in a world title to.
Hogan: Sounds good, thanks for your time.
June 10
(another call)
Hogan calls up Eric at his home.
Hogan: Eric?
Eric: Yes.
Hogan: Got any good news for me?
Eric: Yeah, I got a little good news for ya, turns out my budget isn’t as bad as I thought, I might be able to keep you after all.
Hogan: Great.
Eric: I have a few things planned for you in the next couple of months. I think I will have you lose the belt to Disco Inferno at Hog Wild. You two will then fight again on Nitro and you will lose again. Then at Fall Brawl you will beat him.
Hogan is a little distraught as he hangs up.
June 14
(confirmation)
Hogan: Eric, just wanted to let you know, I have decided to do you the favor and sign with Vince McMahon, I can legally show up the day after Summer Stampede (the June Pay-per View).
Eric: Fine, be that way. I just have to figure out how to get that belt off you.
June 15
(Hogan’s options)
Eric Bischoff and Hogan meet in Eric’s office.
Eric: Now you know why you are here in my office correct?
Hogan: Of course, we need to discuss how to get the belt off my waist.
Eric: Good, Jane, could you send in JJ Dillon?
Jane: Right away sir.
(Dillon Enters)
Dillon: Sir?
Eric: I need some suggestions JJ, how do I get the belt off Hogan?
Dillon: He’s fighting Luger at Summer Stampede he can lose the belt there.
Eric: Brilliant, lets go with it. (JJ leaves)
Hogan: No way brother, that is a no-go dude. Summer Stampede takes place in Venice, my hometown. I can’t lose there.
Eric: Damn it.
Hogan: I will lose the title any day after the PPV.
Eric: We’ll end the match in DQ then.
Hogan: Thanks Eric. (He leaves)
(Eric thinks to himself)
Hogan can legally show up on Raw the Monday after the PPV. If Hogan still has the title… I think I know what has to be done.
June 17
(The Big Meeting)
There is now a secret meeting taking place. The members involved include Uncle Eric, Tony Schiavone, JJ Dillon, Nick Patrick and Lex Luger.
Dillon: That is absurd Eric, that is unheard of, you will be hated…
Eric: It has to be done, I am not going to take any chances, my pride is at stake.
Luger: What about my pride, I can’t win a title like this!
Eric: You can and you will or you are fired, that goes for you too Patrick.
June 18
(Day of the Pay-per View- early morning)
Hogan confronts Nick Patrick in the Hallway.
Hogan: Yo, Nick dude, I have got to talk to ya.
Nick: Wha….what is it….about what…I…I..am short on time.
Hogan: It will only take a second, lighten up dude.
Nick: What is it?
Hogan: I’ve been hearing some crazy rumors Nick, and they might just be crazy enough to be true. I just want you to do me a favor.
Nick (Nick wipes a load of sweat from his brow): wha…what kind of favor?
Hogan: I just want to make sure this match goes smooth. Swear to me you will let this be a clean match. Swear it Dude!!!
Nick: I….I….I
Hogan: You what?
Nick: I….I swear on my children!!!
Hogan: Great, you are a true pal, see ya tonight.
TO BE CONTINUED…
Hogan Gets Screwed Part 2
Eric Bischoff is talking with Nick Patrick.
Eric: Ok you got it down?
Patrick: Yea, listen, I’m felling really uneasy about this.
Eric: Did Terry talk to you? Listen you get the job done, or your done, got it?
Patrick: Understood sir.
Eric: Great, this should go smooth.
The crowd is now treated to the NWO’s entrance music. Hollywood makes his way down the isle strumming his world belt. He is followed by Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. The match is officially underway.
Hollywood has just delivered a low blow to Luger. Luger is down. Hogan is stomping on him and dropping elbows like only the Hulkster can. Eric Bischoff now makes his way down to ringside and gives Nick Patrick a wink. Nick Patrick nods.
Lex now throws Hogan into the ropes and clotheslines him. Now as Lex is beating on Hogan by the turnbuckles Nick Patrick is attempting to clear something up with Bischoff. However, Luger is going to whip Hollywood into the opposite turnbuckle, and in the process of doing so accidentally knocks out Nick Patrick.
Eric is swearing like a maniac, he is infuriated. Bischoff is throwing chairs around at ringside. Now Kevin Nash, not knowing about the plan brings in a chair to nail Luger, being that Nick is knocked out. Bischoff quickly gets in the ring and drags Nash out by his neck. Nash is very upset. Bischoff tries to explain that he is going to screw Hogan. Nash grabs Bischoff by the throat while Randy Anderson, also not knowing about the plan comes in and makes the three count on Luger after Hogan hit him with a leg drop.
The nWo’s music is playing once again with Hogan’s hand raised. Eric is still calm however, for he has a back-up plan. Bischoff walks to the isle and signals for Bret Hart to come to the ring. Bret knows what he has to do and comes down to ringside.
“That count was fast,” explains Bret to the ring announcer. Bret quickly restarts the match.
Now everybody is terribly confused, Hogan has a puzzled look on his face, Kevin Nash doesn’t know what the hell is going on, even Luger is a little puzzled. Bischoff stars yelling for Luger to do something, so Luger puts Hogan in a wristlock. Now Nick Patrick is up and sees Hogan in the lock and calls for the bell.
“Ring the God Damn bell!!!!!” yells Eric.
Once the bell has sounded Eric grabs the belt and throws it to Luger who is sprinting down the isle.
The show has officially gone of the air. Hogan hacks a wad of spit all over Eric’s face. Hogan gets on the turnbuckles and makes out WWF with his fingers. Now Bischoff has left ringside and Hogan is destroying television monitors and creating thousands of dollars worth in damage. Now Hogan goes backstage where he is immediately confronted by Bischoff. Hogan slugs Bischoff right across the face, gets in his car and leaves
